Privacy Policy

This policy is provided as a plain-language template describing how Tenbo works. It is not legal advice. Please review it — ideally with a qualified professional — before relying on it for your jurisdiction.

Tenbo ("the app") is a Japanese Riichi mahjong scoring and point-ledger app published by Alex Herdt ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information is and isn't collected when you use Tenbo, and the choices you have.

The short version: Tenbo has no accounts and no login, and the games, scores, statistics and settings you create stay on your device. We do not operate servers that receive your gameplay data. The only data leaving your device is handled by our advertising and in-app-purchase providers, described below.

1. Information stored on your device

Your games, hand history, statistics, house-rule settings and language preference are stored locally on your device (in the app's on-device database). This data is not transmitted to us and is not accessible to us. Deleting the app removes it.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Tenbo shows ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads and measure their performance, Google and its partners may collect and process information such as a device advertising identifier, general device information, approximate (non-precise) location derived from your IP address, and ad-interaction data. This processing is governed by Google's policies, not ours.

Purchasing Tenbo Pro removes all ads, after which no ad requests are made.

3. In-app purchases (RevenueCat + app stores)

Tenbo Pro is a one-time purchase processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases and confirm entitlement. When you buy or restore a purchase, RevenueCat and the relevant app store process purchase information (such as the product bought, transaction and receipt data, and a randomly generated app-user identifier) and device information needed to validate the transaction. We do not receive your name or payment-card details; those are handled by the app store.

Tenbo is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California), you may have rights to know about, access, or delete personal information, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." Because the game data you create stays on your device and we operate no servers that receive it, the personal information involved is limited to what our advertising and purchase providers process, as described above. You can exercise controls through your device's advertising settings, and you may contact us using the details below.

8. International users

If you use Tenbo outside the United States, note that our providers may process the limited data described above in the United States and other countries. Where you are in a region requiring consent for personalized advertising (such as the EEA or UK), the app presents the applicable consent choices before serving personalized ads.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
